Purpose: Single Dosing

The Mignon Single Dose by Eureka is a coffee grinder designed for single portioning. In contrast to grinders that operate with a hopper filled with beans, special single-dosing grinders are designed so that each portion to be ground is weighed individually and then completely ground. The advantages of this method are obvious: the beans are fresher, because the bean hoppers of conventional grinders are not airtight. In addition, it allows for easy and flexible switching between different bean varieties without waste. Single dosing also shows changes in grind size more directly, as no mixtures of different grind sizes occur. Speaking of grind size adjustment: with the Mignon Single Dose, as is typical for Eureka, this is stepless and extremely precise.

No retention with the Mignon Single Dose

To be suitable for single dosing, a grinder must meet one main criterion: retention should be minimized. Retention refers to how much ground coffee remains inside the grinder and, if in doubt, comes out with the next grind.

To meet this requirement, the Eureka Mignon Single Dose offers several decisive advantages. The entire housing is tilted forward at a 15-degree angle. This allows any residual ground coffee to fall out of the grinding chamber into the collection container due to gravity. To remove even the smallest particles from the grinder, an accordion-like collar is placed between the bean funnel and the wooden lid. By pressing the lid at the end of a grinding cycle, a puff of air is generated, which blows out the grinding mechanism. The included stainless steel cup is ideal for weighing fresh beans and as a collection container for the ground coffee. The ground coffee can then be conveniently poured from the cup into the portafilter.

High quality and durable

For the 100th anniversary of its founding in Florence, Eureka launched the Oro line in 2020. Oro (Italian for gold) refers to Eureka's premium brand with particularly high-quality and durable grinders. The Mignon Single Dose also belongs to the Oro series. The robust housing in a modern design and the elegant oak wood elements provide a noble appearance. Inside the grinder, the powerful AC motor with 1650 revolutions per minute and the specially treated Diamond Inside burrs ensure exceptional durability. Thanks to Silent Technology, the Mignon Single Dose is surprisingly quiet despite its performance.
